a BIG change

It's been a crazy busy time these last few months. There are some changes taking place within the company I am excited to tell you about! I set up my company back in 2008 and added Raven Red, a new line to showcase my fashion work. My reasons for doing this made sense at the time but have just ended up being confusing…… well here is the thing AM will be no more. Raven Red will be the sole company and I will be marketing myself as a wedding /fashion photographer. I would love to do more work on a broader scale so it makes sense to go with a more unique name… Do you know how many AM Photography’s there are??? A ton. But there is only one Raven Red!

So how did I pick this name? Well like most things that are meant to be it came suddenly and just felt right. I just randomly thought of it one day and liked the way it sounded. I have always been fascinated with the raven and it’s meanings in different cultures. The Raven is prominent in Native American cultures symbolizing the void, which draws in all energy toward itself and releases it in new forms. The Raven is also seen as the bringer of light and in many tales the Raven steals the light and gives it to the people of the land. How perfect I thought.

Another determining factor in switching over is AM photography stood for Angela Michelle and while I am the photographer there is so much other work involved with running the company. I am to the point that I am overwhelmed and can't keep up with everything. This is soooooo awesome and I have you, my wonderful clients to thank for spreading the word…. Much love!!! But to be honest it hasn’t totally been just me for awhile.

So I would like to formally introduce the rest of the team Rachelle and Desiree. Rachelle will be handling booking and fiscal services… Rachelle is superb at the details and can answer any questions you may have and make sure you get the most out of your photo shoot. Many of you may already know Desiree. She is a little of everything... She accompanies me on shoots sometimes playing a multitude of roles including but not limited to….. creative director, assistant, makeup artist and hair stylist. Her energy on set is infectious. Both Desiree and Rachelle will be assisting with non shooting duties.I am lucky to have them both.

Another change I am thrilled to reveal is Raven Red will be teaming up with wardrobe stylist Grizelda Garza as well as other talented makeup artists and hair stylists. And will be offering an all inclusive package which will include hair make and wardrobe and photos.

Raven Red Photography is really a team effort and I am lucky enough to work with some of THE BEST!!!

Fall is here!!!! October is busy with weddings and I couldn't be more thrilled! I have been busy with both AM and Raven Red which is awesome! I have also been getting a lot of referrals in the past weeks and I would like to thank everyone for that. I am currently booked on weekends till December but there is still weekday availability so if you are wanting photos in time for Christmas...NOW is the time to book.

Booking for the Fall

Now that fall is near and the weather will be cooling (hopefully) it's the perfect time to plan your next photoshoot. I am taking a limited number of bookings this fall so if you are interested in a session book NOW!!!!! This applies to both AM and Raven Red Photography. I have created a separate line of my work which focuses on fashion-like photography for women ,Raven Red Photography is all about creating a fantasy photoshoot to satisfy your heart desire. These shoots are a ton of fun although a bit challenging for subjects but I guarantee some amazing images.

AM Photography is still available for portaits and weddings and I am happy to announce that AM Photography is now a featured on wedding wire and soo be sure to look me up on there.

Every once in awhile I will take photos with absolutely no purpose. I just go and photograph anything and everything that catches my eye. I love these times! Not that I don't love photographing with a purpose but these carefree photo ops are just so liberating. No pressure! I often find these moments to be inspirational and they only help me hone my skills and fuel my creativity.

So Sat night I was supposed to shoot a model from out of town. They were a no call no show and I was quite sad especially since I bought a new backdrop. After a quick call to my friend, Elizabeth, I had a new model. Desi came over to assist and the three of us got to work. Elizabeth rocked the camera and was game for whatever; she even let us wrap her in plastic. You know, I am actually glad I had a no show cause this was one awesome shoot!

I had my bridal portrait taken last Sun with the super talented Jade Noir. I was so lucky to find a photographer that I could totally be my goofball self with. We have more in common than just our passion for photography;) With the help of her bf Ben, my moh Desi and the talented hairstylist Robyn Mayer the shoot went smoothly. I had a lot of fun and we got some great stuff but...I think I will stay on the other side of the camera.

So the other night we found a little orange kitty at my friends house. He was hungry thirsty and starving for attention. With our friends encouragement we decided to rescue him and try and find him a home. Well he found a home alright. Ours. Adam named him Helo aka Orange Milo.
